My Hack4Good 2020 Awesome Experience #MBASHack4Good
The weekend 2nd – 3rd May saw teams across regions, building applications that will help communities during these unprecedented times.
There were over 390 participants from 40 different countries representing all over the globe.
Our team #cookymonsters developed a Patient Connect application in 24 hours for patients with Alzheimer’s disease.
This solution will help family members connect with their loved ones in care as the lockdown and Covid-19 pandemic brings social distancing in our communities.
Watch the YouTube Video here and let me know your thoughts.
The applications we used in building this solution are:
1. Canvas App – Carer Patient Family Link
Simple app, first screen is to view patients, drill down to patient detail, which lists any photos or videos to show to patient. Drill down to individual image to show screen to display image and collect sentiment from patient.
Clicking on one of the faces will display a sentiment recorder, where you can log the face selection, rate the patient from a carer prospective and add some notes.
2. Model Driven App
Admin app to create Patients, link to Family members, add & display sentiments & patient images (via Related on Patient).
3. Microsoft Power Apps Portal
Power Apps Portal is a customer self-service portal, where family members can view the patients file and upload images and videos.
The PowerBI report was also been embedded into the portal enabling carers to view and take action.
4. Power BI
PowerBI Reports to show Patients Data over time including Carers Sentiments and Patients sentiments based on images presented to Patient.
Filters Available: Patient, Timeline, Sentiment
5. Power Virtual Agent
Simple chat bot to support opening times and asking how a family member is, needs registered email address of family member.
It was a great collaborative effort with my team members Carl Cookson, Lucy Swinn and Guy Orridge
We came 3rd – Runners up award. Thank you everyone.

Great article, Chime, thanks! I love what you guys have built. It’s nice to see how the components on the Power Platform can come together and form an elegant and meaningful solution like this!
Thank you so much Mehmet for your kind words. It was a long but very rewarding 24 hours. I am super proud of the solution we built.
